When doing these pictures, I had a bit of a dilemma on how best to present the characters. I do not approve of the complete medieval look often given to the stories, yet some of the characters do not crop up until those medieval times for which a 7th century celt would not necessarily look right. I settled for a bit of a hybrid feel, picking elements from different eras but not allowing them to be pinned down to any time or place.
